Aletheia theater and acting

The art of acting is to tell stories truthfully. Psalms 51:6 states, Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. - Annette Buisman, Theatre/Acting Consultant
Aletheia. Dance, Inc believes that all dancers should be well-rounded in various forms of performing arts. In the ballet industry, dancers use pantomime. The idea was introduced by Jean George Noverre of the Baroque Period of Ballet, as a form of acting to carry out the storyline throughout each production. Then it progressed with Contemporary Ballet Choreographer, Michel Folkine, and other modern dance choreographers down the line who introduced the concept of dancers using their entire bodies to express their message and storyline to viewers. Our monthly acting classes will train our dancers to be effective messengers as they perfect their abilities to express the storyline or message of whatever piece they are ministering, and create a divine, aesthetic experience for all viewers. We are currently offering all students mandatory Beginner/ Improvisational Acting, which are intertwined within our core curriculum, during each regularly scheduled dance class the last week of each month. PRIVATE LESSONS In addition to teaching mandatory monthly acting lessons to our Aletheia students to enhance their dance performance by way of our department. We also offer private or group lessons in collaboration with the Actor's Scene of Atlanta right here in the Greater Columbia area for Aletheia dance students and non-Aletheia dance students in the Columbia area, who would like to further pursue a potential career in acting!
